A FUTURE-READY INFRASTRUCTURE BUILD

EBENEZER FIRE DISTRICT HEADQUARTERS

What began decades ago as a small, volunteer-based fire station operating out of a modest barn has grown into a fully established fire district with multiple facilities, full-time staff, and a critical role in emergency response across southwest Missouri. The latest chapter in that evolution? A high-tech, future-proof fire headquarters packed with reliable, redundant, and resilient systems, inside and out.

SCOPE OF WORK

Our team was brought in to fully outfit the new Ebenezer Fire District headquarters with a comprehensive, scalable infrastructure. This wasn’t a simple tech refresh- this was building from the ground up for a district that had never operated at this scale before.

WE INSTALLED THE FOLLOWING

Network Infrastructure

Complete category cabling, wired and wireless networks, including all public, private, 911, and guest networks- with full redundancy from multiple providers (AT&T, LTE backups, and CAD wireless systems).

Security Systems

64 high-resolution cameras and a modern card access system on every door, powered by Brivo controllers. The system allows instant, automated emergency access even in the event of lost credentials or triggered alarms.

Emergency Communications

Fully integrated TV distribution and CAD channel broadcast to 27+ TVs throughout the facility, enabling all personnel to instantly see 911 calls and response data in real time. The system also supports secure video conferencing with Greene County Emergency Management.

Redundancy & Disaster Preparedness

Designed with worst-case scenarios in mind, the infrastructure includes handheld analog radio backups, off-air antenna access, and resilient cabling so that communication and visibility remain operational no matter the conditions.

Wi-Fi Coverage & Device Management

16 commercial-grade access points ensure reliable coverage throughout the building, from offices to living quarters- far surpassing the single-router setup the district previously relied on.

Efficiency Gains & Scalability

Previously, the department relied on a single office router and two wall-mounted televisions. Today, they’re operating a secure, scalable, fully managed infrastructure with 27 screens, full-building access control, and monitored digital security.

The new systems don’t just improve performance, they simplify operations and drastically increase reliability. Doors open automatically in response to alarms. Emergency channels broadcast without delay. And with every square inch of the building now covered, personnel can focus more on response—and less on IT workarounds.

Longevity & Future-Proofing

While standard IT gear may have a 5-year refresh cycle, many of the components installed (particularly the access control systems, camera infrastructure, and network cabling) are designed to last well over a decade. And because the design is modular and open-architecture, future upgrades can be layered in without overhauling the core systems.

A Personal Connection

This wasn’t just another job for our CEO, Darren Smith. It was personal. Mr. Smith grew up just down the road, watched the fire trucks leave that same street, and even remembers hauling soda cans to the original station as a kid. His father was chief of the district 30 years ago, back when the department was all volunteer and operating out of two garage doors.

“This one hit home,” he said. “To go from pulling a cart past the old barn to wiring this facility with cutting-edge infrastructure…it’s a full-circle moment. And it’s an honor to make sure this new building is ready for whatever comes next.”

CONCLUSION

Ebenezer Fire District’s new headquarters is more than an upgrade, it’s a leap into the future. Designed with resilience, speed, and usability in mind, it ensures first responders can stay connected and informed, no matter the scenario.
From local roots to leading-edge tech, this project was built to serve the community for decades to come.
